Details

Five hundred years after the expulsion of Jews from Spain, the passionate ballads and lyric love songs of peninsular Spain live on in the Sephardic tradition. This lecture-recital combines haunting melodies with an explanation of their origin, their significance within the Sephardic world, and an analysis of the individual songs in tonight's programme Presented by The Cervantes Institute and the Department of Hebrew and Jewish Sudies UCL.
