The African Company Presents Richard III archive

This play is based on the true story of the first group of actors and actresses to come form the African slaves who were freed in Manhattan in the 1820's. It follows this African Company's struggle to perform amongst the population's racial prejudices. Featuring some brilliant drumming and dance sequences the play tells a story in a style that is enormously uplifting.
