Written in 1920 the play introduces us to his invention, the Robot, and to the gloriously dystopic brave new world of the men who make them. In this new and incisive translation, Capek's concerns about Robot power and artificial intelligence are every bit as comic and prophetic as they were when he described them almost 80 years ago.
