Beautiful Sameera Mohammed, aka Coco, is an up-and-coming 'celebrity' on TV's latest reality show Pole Factor. Hungry for followers on social media, she's happy to court controversy and when she publicly rejects Islam, her anti-mosque campaign goes viral. Despised by Muslims but lauded by the media and masses, she is carried away by a wave of popularity - until an unforeseen tragedy takes place, and Coco realizes that ?reality' is not under her control. Pole Factor highlights writer Nazish Khan's interest in mental illness, Islamaphobia, the culture of reality celebrities, social media and internet gossip. It also justifies her penchant for reading trashy magazines as 'research'. Long listed for the Verity Bargate 2011 Award, premiered at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringe Pole Factor, written by Nazish Khan, explores the tenets of blind obsession, whether it be in faith, fame or infatuation.
