Rarescale was formed by Carla Rees in 2003 to develop and promote new music for the alto flute. Since then, the group has grown to include diverse instrumentation and has performed throughout the UK, as well as in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis and France. An exciting evening of music for alto and bass flute, bass clarinet, guitar and electronics. This performance at The Space includes the London Premiere of Rain Drive by Michael Oliva, rarescale’s composer in residence, as well as works by leading young British composer Tim Benjamin, and US composers Daniel Kessner and David Bennett Thomas. The concert also includes innovative improvised music using live instruments, laptop and Wii remote controls Rarescale website.
