Lo Cor de la Plana hail from Marseille, six singers accompanied by percussion (bendirs and tamburello), 'picaments' (foot stomping) and 'bataments' (hand clapping). The group explores their Occitan musical heritage in a new way, breaking the restrictions of traditional song. Their inspiration is everywhere - in churches, factories, bars, festivals and theatres, as their only ambition is that their music reflects their world. A police siren, a newborn baby, a fantasy paradise, a drunken party, sheep, wolves - all of life’s dramas have a place in their witty, humorous and very funky songs.
