Cruel Sea archive1939 Liverpool. Dicky and Sam are two young scousers eager to follow in the footsteps of their fathers and countless other Liverpudlians. They want to see the world. They want a life of adventure in the Merchant Navy. And nothing is going to stop them. Not the U-Boats. Not the Luftwaffe. Not even their mums. Celebrating their indomitable spirit, heroism and humour, Cruel Sea was inspired by the living memories and experiences of Liverpool's war-time Merchant Navy and the people who experienced Liverpool at war.
