Swing to the Big Band classics of the 30s, 40s and later with Borders Big Band. The Borders Big Band (based in Galashiels) was originally formed in the late seventies by a group of enthusiastic musicians who wished to revive and promote the swing classics of the ‘30s and ‘40s Big Band era together with more recent Big Band arrangements. The band’s repertoire is drawn from the libraries of Big Band greats including Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey, Charlie Barnet, Buddy Rich, Brown and numerous others.
