Bazaar archiveIn 1997, David Planell won the Hogar Sur Prize for comedy with Bazaar, which focuses on a group of culturally diverse characters and their attempt to get an accident video shown on a 'You've Been Framed' style TV programme. Alongside the hilarity of this absurd operation, the play exposes undercurrents of racism beginning to surface in central Madrid. This darkly comic tale gives an insight into the lives of immigrants, and challenges conventional notions of individual and national identity.
