For its second Festival of new London Irish Plays Green Curtain Theatre has chosen its theme as "Against the Odds". In A Tragic Carmody internationally acclaimed artist Brian Whelan relates his real life experience working with the late Camden artist, Danny Carmody, as they attempted to stage an exhibition of London Irish Art. Award winning playwright Martin McNamara returns with Mosley Must Fall, second play in a trilogy about Liam McEnroe, a volunteer from the Easter Rising. Now living in 1930s East End of London, we see a disillusioned father trying to keep his sons out of the growing political violence. Our third play What's The Story?, by Maureen Alcorn, examines the unsung contribution made by Irish nurses to London hospitals during the Blitz in the Second World War, a contribution which continues to today as the NHS celebrates the 80th anniversary of its founding.
