Nottingham Arts Theatre is happy to announce that it is producing a special party night out in conjunction with "Four and a Bit" - a group of friends and musicians who have been entertaining audiences for more than a decade. The party will happen in the main theatre starting at 7:30 pm and evoking music from the 1960’s. The doors and the bar will open at 6:45 pm and the bar will be open throughout and after the show selling drinks and food. "Four and a Bit" comprises six members. The name doesn’t quite add up but so what! They got together as teenagers in the mid-60s in Isleworth, West London and played in youth clubs and at charity events until they went their separate ways scattering across the country. The group, who had become teachers, accountants, journalists and other professionals, got together again in 1998 as a sixties revival band and occasionally play free of charge for charities. They will be live on stage at the Arts Theatre on Saturday, May 31st. Mike Taylor, the leader of the group said: “When I heard about the Arts Theatre I decided it was a worthwhile cause for us to support. So I called up the other members of the group and we will all converge in Nottingham to do the gig and hopefully raise a significant sum to support community arts in the city. All we need now is an audience. So come on Nottingham - dig out your old tank tops and miniskirts and come and bop to the music of the 60s - the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Status Quo, Small Faces, the Kinks, Elvis and many, many more."
