Two Punks and a Tandem archiveEngland. 1985. EastEnders debuts on BBC One, Everton are crowned champions of the Football League, Jennifer Rush tops the charts with The Power Of Love and big hair is all the rage. But Britain's youth are restless. They have no work, no money, no hope. And in the seaside town of Penzance in Cornwall, a group of mates decide to do something about it. Out of this gang, Leigh and Mitch - two disillusioned young punks, embark on a sponsored bike ride from John O'Groats to Land End to raise money for a charity supporting the unemployed. What they don't realise, is that this is a trip that will change many lives forever. Set against the backdrop of Thatcher's bleak and broken Britain, Two Punks And A Tandem is a hilarious, gripping and moving tale of friendship, fear and hope. An ode to the power and spirit of community, in increasingly individualistic times. Brought to life in trademark Silly Boys style, with puppets, poetry and a kick-ass soundtrack. Based on a true story. Supported by Bristol Old Vic Ferment.
