Details

Ensemble 360 was formed in 2005 to take up residency in South Yorkshire succeeding The Lindsays who were retiring as a quartet. The ensemble brings together musicians from across the globe to form one versatile ensemble of eleven musicians; five wind players, a pianist, double bassist and the Elisas String Quartet. Beethoven’s The Ghost, is named after the atmospheric slow movement which helped to establish the popularity of the piano trio as genre. Brahms’ Serenade is a lively dance-like work that’s full of surprises! Sandwiched between the two is a new and beautiful work by Welsh composer Huw Watkins. Chamber music is close to Huw’s heart and he has written works for many leading chamber ensembles. Broken Consort was written especially for Ensemble 360 in 2008.
