In 1998 Alison Balsom won the brass final of the BBC Young Musicians Competition, which led to her debut at the Waterfront in Belfast with the Ulster Orchestra. She has won several other competitions and has performed as a concerto soloist in Paris, Brussels, Vienna, Berlin and the United Arab Emirates. Her repertoire ranges from early music to specially commissioned contemporary works. Alison will record an EMI Debut disc over the summer and makes her Prom debut this August.
