Royal Gala - A Royal night for Jason Donovan and Julie Sianne Theatre Arts archiveThe Queen's grand-daughter, HRH Princess Beatrice of York, will be attending a Royal Gala, hosted by Jason Donovan, to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The performers were chosen following a nationwide search by children's newspaper First News to discover young talent for their First News Diamond Kids Royal Gala, in celebration of the Queen's 60 years on the throne. The variety show features 18 acts, chosen from more than 1,000, who have been auditioning for months at theatres nationwide. Julie Sianne Theatre Arts from Byfleet in Surrey is one of the acts and will be performing ?Ordinary People'. Julie Evans, principal of the school said: "We are all very excited and proud to have been chosen from so many entrants. Last year we performed 2 numbers at the first ever Dance Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and now the children are experiencing performing on a West End stage. The school is about giving quality training and opportunities to everyone and events like this are a big part of that. The fact that it is in support of such a great cause just makes it all the more special." Following Britain's Paralympic success, one of the other acts is a disabled gymnastic display team who have performed around the world. They are remarkable, not for their disabilities, but for their abilities. Profits from the tickets sold for the Royal Gala event will go towards ChildLine, the free confidential helpline and online service for children and young people.
