Iphigenia archiveA daughter sacrifices herself so her father can go to war. Edna O'Brien, one of the great contemporary writers, interprets Euripides' Iphigenia, one of the great Greek tragedies, in a piece written specially for the Crucible. Exposing the dilemmas of love, duty and sacrifice, O'Brien's lyrical narrative breathes life, vibrancy and bloody passion into the epic characters of Agamemnon, Clytemnestra, Achilles and Iphigenia.
