The Bacchai Exhibition provides a fascinating insight behind the renowned stage designer, Alison Chitty's design process for Peter Hall's production of Bacchai (Olivier Theatre, opening 8 May 2002). The uniqueness of the whole approach lies in the way the set and costumes have evolved solely during the rehearsal stage of the production, resulting in a close collaboration between the designer and director. This exhibition will depict a design journey, tracking the development of the visual elements from sources of inspiration and initial conceptions, through research stages and early sketches, to final models and designs.
