Homage to Astor Piazzolla
T0
The great tango composer Astor Piazzolla was a true revolutionary, but died in 1992 believing that his work had not been appreciated. In 1997, the great violinist Gidon Kremer's album Homage to Piazzolla shot to number one in the classical charts, selling by the thousand and kick-starting the new interest in the music of tango, and the remarkable life of its father-figure - Astor Piazzolla. This Christopher Nupen film profiles that life and features footage of both Piazzolla, and Kremer, his modern-day champion.
