Burn

Time Out's Cabaret Editor Ben Walters hosts a live cabaret event combining moving images with performances. After our sold-out event at the London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival and a trip to Manchester for Mother's Pride, BURN, the platform for moving images by cabaret artists, comes to Mimetic. For artists perennially working on a shoestring, the advent of cheap DV has opened up new dimensions of the imagination. From music videos to art films, high-concept gags to experiments in light, video-interactive live work to low-budget features, the moving image is being embraced by the underground as never before. BURN is a platform for this work. It was set up by Time Out London cabaret editor Ben Walters in 2010. That year, BURN held three sold-out screening and performance events at Bistrotheque, including a preview of ?Uncle David', starring David Hoyle. season.
