A new restaging of Diamond Age s 1981 show performed by Janek Alexander (previous Chapter Director), theatre, choreographic and performance artist Eddie Ladd and guest jazz saxophonist Dave Perry (previously seen with Gerald Tyler and Bristol based group, Limbo). This evening of virtuosic singing, arrangements and playing is scored around Alexander s tuneful pop songs about politics, society and happiness. From recordings made at the time of the Falklands War, these are songs 'from the old country', a visceral and ironic look at the state of the nation in a show that innovatively updated the cabaret format for the 1980s.
