Ida Barr's Variety Parade

A charity fundraising spectacular! Sheffield Theatres and The University of Sheffield present a one-off special event at the Lyceum theatre. Saucy and sassy, bold and brassy, the show will be headlined by character comedian Christopher Green. Your host for the evening will be music hall singer turned rap star Ida Barr - 'Marie Lloyd meets Missy Elliott: awe inspiring' (The Guardian). She will be joined by Nashville's finest and Radio 4 regular, iconic country music singer Tina C - 'genius' The Sunday Telegraph. The line-up includes stars of La Clique, the saucy Miss Behave amd the mistress of magic herself Ursula Martinez, dancing dynamos the Sugar Dandies, and fresh from the Barbican the ageless Mark Raffles. Enjoy an evening of sword swallowing, acrobats, dancing girls and much, much more. Prepare to be entertained and amused by this risque but affectionate celebration of variety old and new, with a touch of burlesque. Adults only, will contain nudity. Proceeds from this event will go to The University of Sheffield Scholarship Fund, which provides financial support for gifted students from the region and to Sheffield Theatres' 'the next stage' redevelopment programme. The show is part of a new season of 'Admission All Classes', produced by Professor Vanessa Toulmin of The University of Sheffield.
