Fragile - Eternity Cabaret - T1420357793

The latest in Peter Suart’s series of one man ‘eternity cabarets’ follows previous works which have explored ‘big topics’ like the Holy Grail, the Holocaust, quantum mechanics and race relations. Combining theatrical trickery, original music and storytelling, this new show looks at the Hong Kong bubonic plague of 1894. While in Hong Kong, Dr Alexandre Yersin from France and Kitasato Shibasaburo from Japan both claimed precedence in identifying the plague bacillus, a discovery which subsequently changed the course of medical history. Peter Suart is a musician, performer and graphic artist who has released solo albums and worked with theatre artists and companies in Hong Kong since the 1980s. He is the co-founder, with Kung Chi Shing, of The Box, known since 1987 for its brilliant, one-off theatrical music concerts. Presented in association with Hong Kong Arts Centre.
