Burgess made his Broadway debut in Good Vibrations before going on to appear in Jersey Boys. He went on to originate the role of Sebastian in Disney's The Little Mermaid opposite Sierra Boggess and later returned to Broadway as Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls. His screen credits include Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Angry Birds Movie, Royal Pains, Blue Bloods and 30 Rock.
