Chouf Ouchouf - T01849012770A witty and highly skilled show for adults and children over seven. We are delighted to present Groupe Acrobatique de Tangier, a company of twelve Moroccan acrobats, with their new production, CHOUF OUCHOUF produced and directed by award winning Swiss artists Zimmermann and de Perrot. Weaving together contemporary performance and traditional Moroccan acrobatics in a poetic exploration of North African culture, CHOUF OUCHOUF reflects the daily life in the Medina. In the Medina, the old quarter, it’s ten to a house, and a hundred to the narrowest street. Shout or you won’t be heard; push to the front or never be seen. Life and colour lie around every corner, animals and cigarette hawkers fill the squares. The city is unruly, chaotic, but no matter - beneath the clamour and fights of the market are the whispers of its other life. Dusk falls like a shutter, then the night. Silently the walls open, and amid the maze-like streets and along the rooftops figures move on secret agendas. What, or who, is in the bag? CHOUF OUCHOUF (literally "look, but take a real good look") captures the danger, joy and urgency of life in Tangiers. Running time: 75mins approxChoreographer Martin Zimmermann.
