Much loved Edinburgh Favorites Tripod are back at the Fringe after a three year hiatus. For thousands of millennia, award-winning musical idiots Tripod have wowed audiences in Australia and abroad with their trademark blend of gorgeous harmonies and dysfunctional relationships. Now they prepare to strap on their scabbards and embark on yet another epic journey: bringing to the Edinburgh Fringe the European premiere of their new musical Tripod versus the Dragon. Scod (a wizard), Yon (a priest) and Gatesy (a fighter who dreams of being a bard) are a gormless trio who journey into the mists of fantasy legend. Tripod versus the Dragon combines classic character comedy and a bunch of great songs with liberal references to the great operas, the bible (all three testaments: old, new and Superstar) and the other bible: the Dungeons & Dragons Player’s Handbook, in this hilariously lo-fi retelling of a grand tale of love, ambition, greed and tragedy with lots of numbers in it and maps of fake places. Tripod will accept all Gold Pieces or precious gems. No evil wizard lords allowed.
