An all-womxn comedy collective hailing from the North East. Live Theatre is altering the landscape of Newcastle's comedy circuit with the announcement of their brand new all girl sketch group Your Aunt Fanny. Formed by seven of the most talented members of Live's Youth Theatre Your Aunt Fanny will launch their unique brand of comedy on Saturday 10 August. The girls, aged between 15 and 20 years of age, are working with two of the region's most exciting new writers, Laura Lindow (Sawdust & Stardust) and Lee Mattinson (Chalet Lines, Donna Disco and Jonathan Likes This) to create a jam packed evening of laughter. From the absurd to the down-right ridiculous the girls will be celebrating everything that is funny and inappropriate. Your Aunt Fanny will feature a hilarious collection of original sketches including a taxi mishap, a snooty Betty's tearoom waitress, some questionable facial hair, a foolhardy game of eye-spy and Blood Sugar Monster (a diabetes inspired musical). And, of course, this will be done with that particular Newcastle attitude that makes the city famous, or infamous, all over the country. Your Aunt Fanny provides a safe place for young female comedians to try out new ideas and gain vital theatre and comedy experience. The project aims to nurture the comedy careers of the next generation of female comedians. The August line up includes Youth Theatre regulars Lydia Brickland, Jackie Edwards, Brogan Gilbert, Matilda Neill and Lauren Waine. Part of Party Poppers this year's Youth Theatre Festival.
