Alec Dankworth is a British Jazz Awards winner who has worked with artists as diverse as Stephane Grappelli, Abdullah Ibrahim and Van Morrison. After studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Alec joined various groups, notably Clark Tracey, Julian Joseph and Nigel Kennedy. During a New York residency he played with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and became a member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Alec has since rejoined his parents' group and leads the Alec Dankworth Trio. Alec's new band fuses jazz with a Spanish accent, performing jazz standards, folksongs and originals with a flamenco rhythm and composers Chick Corea, Dizzy Gillespie and Jack DeJohnette.
