For this performance the supremely gifted Russian pianist Alexander Karpayev is joined by the dynamic and talented Northerly Winds (oboe, horn, bassoon, clarinet and flute). Beethoven’s impressive Quintet for piano and winds will contrast with virtuosic works for winds alone by the French composers Damase and Taffanel. performances of Liszt, Debussy and Brahms – an opportunity for the pianist to show his sparkling and mature talents which have already dazzled informed London audiences.
