The award winning Backbeat Percussion Quartet was formed in 1995, bringing together four outstanding performers. The members of Backbeat have all composed pieces for the group, sometimes for unusual combinations of instruments. Join the dynamic Backbeat Percussion Quartet on a whistlestop journey around the huge world of the percussion family. The group will introduce and explain a whole range of instruments from the marimba and drum kit to the African djembe and Irish Bodhran. This diverse and creative group can make music out of just about anything - including their own bodies! A fun packed afternoon is promised for all with plenty of audience participation and surprises!
