Billy was last seen at sold out concerts in Alnwick performing 'The Lindisfarne Story', and before that with Warhorse songman Bob Fox, and The Pitmen Poets. Billy Mitchell has been around for a while. In the seventies he founded the seminal Jack the Lad, musically deft & wondrous and also, un-hinged. Half a lifetime with Maxie Peters as the wonderfully wacky Maxie and Mitch., then onto eight years as front man of the legendary Lindisfarne. In 2005 he recorded ?The Devils Ground', one enthusiastic review of the album, was noted as - "...one of the finest singers on the planet". (Pete Fyffe). He recently performed with Roger Daltrey of The Who, Paul Weller, Jools Holland, Mark Knopler, and Brian Johnson of AC/DC at The Sage, Gateshead, and recorded with Sting on his latest project 'The Last Ship'. For this unique concert, he will be performing songs from all periods of his career, with his son Tom, who plays guitar, piano and vocals in 'The Lindisfarne Story Band', and is a musical tour de force in his own right.
