Singers of all ages will take the stage in attempt to impress a panel of expert judges and be voted through to the semi-finals. There is something for all tastes with everything from Bach to Barbershop, Gospel choirs to Glee clubs, with plenty of opportunity for audience members to exercise their vocal cords too. From more than 150 choirs auditioning around the UK, only six will make it to the Grand Final in November 2012, broadcast on BBC television and radio.

Choir of the Year, in association with BBC Radio 3, is the UK's biggest choral competition. The panel of expert judges includes Eric Whitacre, Mary King and Ken Burton. Presented by Aled Jones and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC FOUR, the Choir of the Year 2010 Grand Final also includes performances by the BBC Singers conducted by David Hill. The six finalists will be announced shortly after 6 November.
