No-one embodies the dramatic transformation of British Jazz over the past few years better than sax player Courtney Pine. This legendary New Orleans saxophonist first inspired Courtney back in the early 80's when he first heard Sidney playing the standard 'Summertime'. After researching he discovered that sometime in the 1920's Bechet travelled and found a silver soprano saxophone in a London store, Sidney bought the horn and the rest is history.
