Bernstein a 20th Century Reflection - T01035448880The exciting programme covers 400 years of repertoire, from Carlo Gesualdo to Morten Lauridsen and Eric Whitacre all highlighting the various influences on the main work of the evening – Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms. With special guest, Jonathan Hellyer (Dame Edna Experience at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern), singing solo both classical and contemporary, this evening promises something for all. The concert is part of the international Bernstein Festival, a year-long festival being held by the Southbank Centre curated by Marin Alsop. The QEH marks the debut concert for Diversity Choir, having recently performed at the internationally acclaimed Various Voices Festival and St Martins in the Fields. Diversity Choir is London’s LGBT chamber choir with some 40 voices, conducted by Andrea Brown, Director of Music at Morley College. Future plans include concerts in the Kings Place Festival and St Martins in the Fields as well as performances of the Monteverdi Vespers - Diversity-style!Performer Jonathan Hellyer. | |
