There has been a long history of cross over between Indian music and jazz and this evening captures the essence of this interaction. Dr. Rajeeb Chakraborty (sarod) and Jesse Bannister (saxophone) perform together in an exceptional collaboration, combining both North Indian rhythms and jazz tones, joined on stage by Subhen Chatterjee (tabla). Rajeeb Chakraborty is equally well known as a musician, an educationist and a composer. Jesse Bannister is unique as the only saxophonist playing in the North Indian classical style and Subhen Chatterjee is acclaimed as one of the finest and most energetic tabla players around today
