Latin American group Ensamble Criollo have been based in the UK since 2001 and are the only ensemble of their type in the country. Their musical style is called 'Joropo' or 'Llanera Music', originally from the west of Venezuela. It is a genre that describes the landscape and customs of the region using poetry fused with humour, a blend that makes it irresistible to the listener. This ensemble features the Latin American Harp, a small Venezuelan guitar called the cuatro, bass and small maracas called capachos.
