Ian Prowse's songwriting has given rise to two great bands, and his songbook crackles with energy and verve. He first came to prominence as the frontman of Pele, the band he formed in 1990 in Ellesmere Port. Two studio albums and one live album later, after a no.1 hit in South Africa the band split in 1996, their legacy being some of the greatest tee-shirt designs of any band, as well as their albums.
