Jocelyn Pook - Speaking in Tunes archiveJocelyn Pook originally made her reputation as a viola player with The Communcards, Peter Gabriel, Laurie Anderson Massive Attack and many others. Now though, she is best known as a composer, having written the soundtrack and original music for Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut and the soundtrack and TV theme for the BBC TV series, In the Land of Plenty. In Speaking in Tunes, fragments of the players' voices are woven into the music of a string quartet as they take off on a journey driven by their thoughts, memories and dreams. Crossing theatre, music, movement and art, images and stories, shadows and vocals scraps are patterned to present an intimate portrait of the musicians.
