John Lill archiveOne of Britain's finest and most popular musicians John Lill leapt to fame when he won the Moscow International Tchaikovsky Competition. Arguably Britain’s most revered pianist, John Lill is an acknowledged master of the great 19th Century piano masterpieces. He arrives at the Howard Assembly Room to mark composer Frederic Chopin’s 200th birthday with a programme including two Polish dances, Polonaise written when Chopin had left his homeland to settle in Paris, and the Ballade No4 which is widely considered to be Chopin’s most musically intense and technically challenging works for solo piano.
