Julian Cope archiveAfter roaring onto the music scene in the late seventies as the lead singer of The Teardrop Explodes, Julian Cope promptly quit to pursue his solo career. One of England's last great eccentrics and a highly creative artist, much of his music is concept driven with ambitious lyrics and issues of personal import, such as the environment, politics and spirituality. After three years of European research, from the northern wastes of Skaggerak to the Iranian border, for his new book The Megalithic European, Julian Cope is ready to play some songs and tell some stories. He'll sing material from the past 20 years, including songs by The Teardrop Explodes; plus new material from his long-awaited album Citizen Cain’d.
