Kyle Eastwood demonstrates a strong command of both electric and acoustic upright basses while expanding into more adventurous territory that is informed as much by jazz as it is by world music. Son of acclaimed actor and director Clint Eastwood, Kyle also composes film scores, with Million Dollar Baby, Flags of Our Fathers and Gran Torino amongst his credits. Following his central role in the soundtrack to his father's Oscar-winning film Million Dollar Baby, bassist Kyle Eastwood is becoming a big name in jazz music. Having collaborated with vocalists such as Joni Mitchell, Diana King and Julia Fordham, Eastwood is creating Jazz for the twenty-first century, with contemporary sounds, which complement the more orthodox virtues of improvisation and swing.
