Formed in September 2012 at the Royal College of Music, the Laefer Quartet will perform saxophone quartet works by Francis Poulenc, Felix Mendelssohn, Astor Piazzolla and Richard Rodney Bennett. The quartet has a wide range of experience individually and enjoy performing together in a variety of styles from transcriptions to contemporary repertoire. They have performed in masterclasses with David Brutti and Gerard McChrystal and give recitals throughout the UK. Laefer is anglo saxon for reed (bulrush) and sheet metal.
