Production details

The only London piano recital this season by the young Chinese superstar who has been taking the world by storm. This concert is part of a residency at Southbank Centre focusing particularly on young pianists, and which will include chamber music, concerto appearances and a special award concert for young pianists. Lang Lang's popular touch has sometimes made him controversial, yet, as The Guardian wrote last year, 'whatever you think of Lang Lang, he always manages to take everyone by surprise.' Thanks to his extraordinary energy, enthusiasm and gift for communication, this unique artist has brought the love of piano music to a whole new generation and is said to have inspired over 40 million Chinese children to start learning to play the instrument.
