his concert presents a special opportunity to see 27-year-old Chinese piano virtuoso Lang Lang in a new light, as he joins two other charismatic musicians - violinist Vadim Repin and cellist Mischa Maisky - in a programme of chamber music. The trio's recent recording of Tchaikovsky's richly romantic Piano Trio has been critically acclaimed for its 'passionate, communal music making' (The Times) and 'outstanding chamber music playing' (Gramophone). Lang Lang has been described by The Times as 'a seriously gifted musician'.
