The scene is Vienna, 1938; the Nazis have invaded Austria and are persecuting the Jews. Optimistic that there will be a resolution, Sigmund Freud has not yet left the city, but one evening the Gestapo arrest his daughter Anna for interrogation. Freud is desperate. He receives a strange visitor: a cynical dandy in evening dress, who arrives through the window and embarks on an incredible discussion... Who is he? A madman? A magician? A dream or the product of Freud's own unconscious mind?
