Led Bib are a bunch of mavericks who pride themselves on side-stepping convention, with incendiary results. Their album Sensible Shoes was nominated for the Mercury Music prize in 2009 and The Times called them ‘the future of jazz’. Empirical are a young, fiery British band who’ve absorbed the history of jazz and fashioned from it, something original and exciting. On record, they are cutting edge, but live they are even more astonishing. | |
