Details
One of the world's finest chamber orchestras, founded in 1949. Principle Guest Conductor James Galway. The evening opens with Stravinsky's Danses Concertantes, music that Kenneth MacMillan used in his first ballet for Sadlers Wells, in 1955, described by critic Clement Crisp described as being 'full of sparks of energy'. Part two of the concert takes us into the temperate and changeable climate of Beethoven's much-loved 'Pastoral' Symphony, no. 6.
