Eyebrow Productions is proud to present the thrilling inaugural concert of the London Show Choir. Featuring sixteen exciting young singers under the expert direction of Leigh Thompson, the concert will include music by Stephen Sondheim, Flaherty & Ahrens, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Elton John, Stephen Schwartz, The Four Seasons and The Carpenters. The choir will be joined by a special guest direct from the USA: cabaret legend Our Lady J, putting her own unique gospel spin on some familiar songs as well as performing her own brilliant original material. This is a choral experience unlike any other. With superb musical theatre voices and choreography plus a dollop of theatrical magic, this is an event not to be missed. The London Show Choir was formed in May 2009 when musical director Leigh Thompson was asked to put together a group to sing with gospel singer Our Lady J in the South Bank’s Purcell Room. This scratch choir had so much fun performing together that they decided to meet once a week and form a professional show choir. The choir consists of a rotating group of around 30 singers, of whom up to 16 perform at any one time. All the singers are professional, experienced musical theatre performers and the choir’s repertoire consists of music from across the canon of choral singing: musical theatre, pop songs, folk music, gospel and classical choral pieces.
