The Songs of Burt Bacharach - T1331333749

Burt Bacharach is one of the most accomplished popular composers of the 20th Century. In the '60s and '70s, he scored a remarkable 52 Top 40 hits. He has worked with everyone from Perry Como to Dionne Warwick, Johnny Mathis to Dusty Springfield and Engelbert Humperdinck to Gladys Knight and the Pips. If you don't know his name you will certainly know his songs! Too many to name here but they include "What's New Pussycat", "Make It Easy On Yourself", "Twenty Four Hours From Tulsa", "Anyone Who Had A Heart", "Alfie", "Say A Little Prayer", "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" and, of course, "Magic Moments". The show charts Bacharach's life story - which in itself has been as full and rich as every one of his songs - four marriages, the death of his daughter and the highs and lows of a life in the forefront of pop music throughout the decades. A talented cast and melodious, well known music, provide an entertaining portrait of one of the one of the greatest popular musical composers of all time.
