Details

Martin Stephenson is a supremely gifted singer, songwriter, musician and performer, whose career in music stretches back over 25 years. Born in County Durham, and originally inspired by punk, Martin's free spirit incorporated a love for an eclectic range of musical styles, from rockabilly, show tunes, through to straight ahead rock and full-tilt punk. He formed The Daintees in the early 80s, and followed the jaunty debut Roll On Summertime with the marvellous album Boat To Bolivia, bursting with excellent, rootsy pop songs, including Crocodile Cryer, Little Red Bottle, Running Waters and Rain. Further solo albums including Gladsome, Humour and Blue and Salutation Road followed before Martin took a step away from the commercial mainstream to make a purer, more heartfelt music.
