Masashi Sada

Masashi SadaT0
Masashi Sada was born in Nagasaki on 10 April 1952. He stared learning to play the violin when he was three years old. After graduating from his elementary school, Masashi studied violin performance and theory in Tokyo. Somewhat moving away from his ambition to become a violinist, Masashi started to write songs on acoustic guitar, realising that he preferred to initially write his songs this way. He then formed the legendary Japanese duo Grape. Grape became Japan's most popular duo and released huge hits such as Snowy Morning and Drifting of the Spirits. In 1976, Masashi decided to carry on his music with a solo career and has been active in the Japanese music scene ever since, combining classical violin skills with modern pop flavours.
